Now Hiring: On-Call Residential Assistant – High View, West Virginia

We’re looking for a compassionate and dependable On-Call Residential Assistant to join our team in High View, WV. This is a great opportunity for someone eager to begin a meaningful career with one of the area’s most respected organizations.

Compensation: We offer our employees a competitive compensation and benefits package that reflects our organizational culture, mission, and core values. The hourly range for this position is $17.50 per hour. Please note that the hourly rate may vary depending on the location of the assignment and specific program requirements.

In this role, you’ll play a key part in delivering services to individuals living with mental health and substance use disorders. Position Description: Provides monitoring and oversight of residential/transitional housing facilities and residents.

Required: HS Degree/GED; 1-3 yrs experience in social services; experience providing services in addictions or mental health treatment.

Schedule: Fluctuating schedule, to include evening, overnight, weekend, and holiday shifts.

Shifts Needed: 8:00 am - 4:00 pm, 4:00 pm - 12:00 am, or 12:00 am - 8:00 am.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of substance abuse treatment and mental health issues Conflict resolution skills.
  • Flexibility with the ability to multi-task despite competing priorities.
  • Ability to remain calm in crisis situations
  • Organized with attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently
  • Ability to communicate with diverse audiences
  • Demonstrates professionalism and maintains confidentiality while working with sensitive issues
  • Problem-solving skills Relationship building skills Ability to set professional boundaries.
  • Expected Contributions:
  • Reports crisis situations, emergencies, and maintenance issues to an on-call person.
  • Appropriate handling of emergencies and/or de-escalating crisis situations as they arise
  • Available to residents during the assigned shift for support as needed.
  • Facilitates/conducts designated group sessions which are scheduled during shift.
  • Monitors residents’ compliance with rules and regulations and gives appropriate consequences.
  • Responsible for overseeing client self-medication administration.
  • Maintains resident confidentiality.
  • Receives report at the start of shift and gives a report at end of shift.
  • Transports residents in a SOME vehicle to and from AA/NA meetings and supervises residents while away from the facility—transports clients to Washington DC for graduation.
  • All documentation is done accurately and completely on a daily basis.
  • Maintain up-to-date first aid & CPR certifications
