Residential Attendant ( Live On- Site)

Department: Donahue House
Location: Washington, DC, DC

Must be able to reside at place of employment in a single room occupancy unit (alone). SOME is seeking a Night Manager to create safe living spaces for our Families. This position works late afternoon and late evening shifts. SOME offers a free rental unit, competitive pay, stability, work-life balance, low-cost benefits and MOST importantly a way to give back to the community and grow professionally.

Position Description: This position will manage building operations and maintain a safe environment. It position will also perform light facilities management and assist with program support.  

Qualifications: Some High School Education or a High School Diploma; 1-3 years of Security experience. 

 Schedule: Wednesday, Thursday - 4pm-8pm, Friday, Saturday and Sunday, 8pm -12pm

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required: 

  •  Knowledge of basic cleaning and maintenance techniques
  •  Flexibility with the ability to multi-task despite competing priorities
  •  Effective communication skills with the ability to read and write
  •  Ability to work independently and work in a team environment
  •  Relationship building skills
  •  Ability to communicate with diverse audiences
  •  Ability to set professional boundaries

Contributions:  

  •  Safety Management: Supervise and circulate the building. Maintain a visitors log and record any usual incidents or violations. 
  •  Program Management: On occasion perform resident drug and alcohol testing. Participate in scheduled building meetings.
  •  Community & Maintenance: Responsible for ensuring cleanliness of the property and assist in getting units ready for move in.
