Administrative Coordinator (Highview, West Virginia)

Department: Exodus House
Location: High View, WV

SOME (So Others Might Eat) provides material aid and comfort to our vulnerable neighbors in the District of Columbia, helping them to break the cycle of poverty and homelessness through programs and services that save lives, improve lives, and help to transform the lives of individuals and families, their communities, and the systems and structures that affect them. We meet immediate needs with food, clothing, and healthcare and offer the tools one needs to live with hope, dignity, and greater independence.

Position Description: We are looking for an organized and proactive full-time Administrative Coordinator to join our team. The Administrative Coordinator will provide administrative and office management support for West Virginia Residential Treatment Services. The Administrative Coordinator will also assist with daily finance and human resources duties.

Required: HS Diploma/GED; 3+ years' experience performing administrative, Human Resources, or Finance tasks

Required License/Certifications: CPR/First Aid & AED; Driver's License

Schedule: Monday-Friday; 7:30 am - 03:30 pm (40 hours per week)

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Time management skills
  • Proficient with MS Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Strong customer service skills to work with internal and external clients
  • Ability to communicate with diverse audiences
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Ability to demonstrate professionalism and maintain confidentiality while working with sensitive issues
  • Ability to multi-task, despite competing priorities
  • Organized with an attention to detail

Expected Contributions: Human Resources & Finance

  • Assist with recruiting activities for WV and place recruiting advertisements
  • Maintain employee folders for Human Resources
  • Conduct new hire orientation and collect new hire paperwork
  • Perform EVerify activities for new hires to ensure eligibility
  • Maintain operating and financial records for WV Residential Treatment Services
    Keep financial records for client funds and update when purchases are made
  • Process invoices and accounts payable for WV
    Process receipts from weekly shopping and allocate to appropriate accounts

Reports to: Senior Director, Residential Treatment Programs

Position Designation: This position is designated as Safety Sensitive. You may be subject to drug testing prior to or during your employment with SOME. In this position, you may be disqualified from employment based on the presence of marijuana in test results, even if you possess a medical card authorizing the use of medical marijuana.

Physical Demands: Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds. Requires looking at a computer screen for several hours a day. May be required to sit for long periods.
